Simone cantará en La Habana (+Audio)
La cantante brasileña Simone, una de las figuras más populares del espectro musical de su país, llega hoy a La Habana, donde ofrecerá un concierto el próximo domingo en el teatro “Karl Marx”, informaron hoy medios oficiales.
Simone Bittencourt de Oliveira, más conocida por el nombre artístico de ”Simone”, se reencontrará con el público cubano, donde ha estado en varias ocasiones desde los años ochenta, cuando participó en el Festival Internacional de la Canción, en el balneario de Varadero.
La artista ha compartido escenario con el cantautor cubano Pablo Milanés, con quien grabó su emblemática canción “Yolanda” para el disco “Pablo querido”.
También ha cantado y grabado con Omara Portuondo, la diva del proyecto Buena Vista Social Club, que reunió a leyendas de la música tradicional de la isla en la década de los noventa.
Según la emisora Radio Habana Cuba, Simone volverá a unir su voz con Portuondo en este concierto único y es probable que también la acompañe Pablo Milanés.
A lo largo de su carrera iniciada en los años setenta, Simone ha grabado más de treinta discos, algunos de ellos ganadores de las categorías de oro y platino por las elevadas ventas que lograron, y sus interpretaciones integran la banda sonora de películas como “Doña Flor y sus dos maridos”.
Entre sus canciones más conocidas y populares en Cuba se recuerdan “O que será”, de su compatriota Chico Buarque, “Procuro olvidarte”, del compositor español Manuel Alejandro, y algunos temas del compositor y cantante mexicano Armando Manzanero.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
