Transbordador Discovery se acopla a la Estación Espacial Internacional

El transbordador estadounidense Discovery se acopló este sábado a la Estación Espacial Internacional por última vez, informó la agencia espacial estadounidense NASA.
El acople del Discovery en su última misión espacial se produjo a las 19H14 GMT, dos minutos más tarde de lo previsto, indicó el comentarista de la televisión de la NASA que retransmitió en directo la operación.
La comunicación entre la Estación (ISS por su sigla en inglés) y el Discovery será abierta a las 21H18 GMT, precisó la NASA.
Discovery inició su 39 y última misión el jueves pasado cuando despegó desde el centro espacial Kennedy en Florida (sureste) con seis tripulantes.
El vuelo del transbordador marcó el inicio del fin del programa, ya que ahora sólo restan dos misiones, la del Endeavour el 19 de abril y la del Atlantis, si la NASA obtiene el presupuesto necesario, a fines de junio.
Si el Atlantis despega, el programa de transbordadores completará 135 misiones.
