Peter Glazebrook, el jardinero aficionado que bate records del mundo
En los países anglosajones se realizan varios concursos en ferias hortofrutícolas para ver quien consigue el vegetal más grande.
Se ha celebrado este mes una de ellas Harrogate Autumn Flower Show en Gran Bretaña.
Este año ha destacado claramente Peter Glazebrook, un aficionado a estos concursos de jardineria que ha conseguido cultivar la cebolla más grande del mundo y ha ganado los seis premios de verduras gigantes.
Peter Glazebrook llevaba 25 años intentando conseguir una cebolla de este tamaño.
El ejemplar de cebolla pesa 8,2 kilos, un nuevo record del mundo que ha superado el que tenía él mismo.
Peter Glazebrook es un topógrafo jubilado de 68 años con un don muy especial para conseguir vegetales gigantes.
Este año presentó también al concurso una col de más de 37 kilos que tuvo que transportar en una carretilla.
A principios de año obtuvo otro record del mundo con la chirivia más larga del mundo con más de 5,6 metros.
Otro de sus logros es patata de mayor peso del mundo con 4,2 kilos.
