Frank Fernández actuará hoy con la sinfónica de Holguín
El pianista cubano Frank Fernández, Premio Nacional de Música, ofrecerá hoy en la ciudad de Holguín un concierto acompañado de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Holguín (OSH) como parte de la reapertura del Teatro Comandante Eddy Suñol.
En declaraciones a la AIN el reconocido compositor explicó que durante el programa nocturno se rendirá homenaje al barítono Raúl Camayd, creador del Teatro Lírico “Rodrigo Prats” de esta urbe y quien falleció en 1991.
Durante la función, precisó, la OSH estará acompañada por músicos de la Sinfónica de Oriente y entre las piezas escogidas se encuentran Malagueña, Tierra Brava, Danza Negra y La bella cubana.
La remodelación y puesta en funcionamiento del edificio, comentó, enriquece aún más la espiritualidad de la nación, y demuestra el interés político y gubernamental, aún en tiempos de crisis, de apostar por el arte y la creación.
Esta será la segunda actuación del maestro esta semana en la conocida como la Ciudad de los Parques tras subir a la escena del Suñol durante la primera gala de reapertura de la instalación, donde acompañó a solistas del Lírico e interpretó el Ave María, de Franz Schubert.
Orestes Saavedra, quien dirigirá a la agrupación instrumental del nororiental territorio, comentó que desde hace siete jornadas ensayan intensamente la presentación de este viernes, en la cual cuenta con el incentivo de tener a Frank como profesor.
Cada repaso a las partituras, narró, es una clase magistral por la exigencia y disciplina, donde se une la teoría musical, con la historia de los temas y la gran capacidad del maestro de estar atento a los compases de cada instrumento.
Nacido el 16 de marzo de 1944, en Mayarí, provincia de Holguín, Frank Fernández, es el autor de partituras en diferentes formatos desde ballet, coros y sinfonías hasta obras para agrupaciones de música popular y bandas sonoras para cine.
Sus composiciones, orquestaciones, investigaciones, su amplia discografía y presentaciones en escenarios de 36 países, lo han hecho merecedor de más de dos centenares de premios y condecoraciones nacionales e internacionales.
